(NBPHE) – A Custom WordPress Theme and Rebuild

This project was a complete site overhaul. It included back-end data changes requiring new custom post-types and fields. The build also included custom templates, as well as, a customized search capability. I created/designed page mockups using Figma, which were used to create the front-end designs.

For this project we also migrated the site to a new hosting service, WP Engine. This allowed me to implement multiple site environments that could be used, not only for staging new feature previews, but this would also allow me to keep a copy of the original site intact. This would enable the client to continue to have access to any preexisting content/pages.

This rebuild included a need to incorporate better branding and also allowed the client to add future features into their new custom site. The new theme took advantage of custom shortcodes written to allow maximum flexibility and ease of site maintenance. This project required a migration to a new hosting service which I spearheaded, ensuring all media and links would remain intact. Incorporated existing data via API retrieved from CiviCRM.

Once completed the site’s theme was posted to an organizational github repository for version control and maintenance.
